Stompy Munchkins

I have new wonderful Fluvogs!!! I spent the weekend batheing in their fabulousness. You should see them under black light. MMmmmmm.....

Friday evening was Purgatory so Friday night gaming was sparsly populated. James, Gorra, Fox and I played a game called Munchkins (one of James' finds from GenCon) which was great. It's all the dugeony goodness of D&D without all that silly roleplaying business. I won the first round (MWaHaha!!) and the right to mock them mercilessly (it's in the rules!).

Star (and Jeanne)'s B-day party was much fun. Yummy food, good company, angry stompy music, leather pants, fishnet; it was all good. Thanks for the invite!

Sunday was a quite day at home with lots of sleep. I did go out to do grocery shopping (as there was nothing left to eat). But all in all, very restful

Visions of dancing flowers...

The week has gotten progressively better since the last post. On Wednesday morning we moved back to our own desk at work. It felt like coming home (I guess that's a good thing. I feel comfortable at work). The carpeters finished last night and the movers got everything back into place. Next week is Registration at the college so we're going to be very busy. I'm going to spend two entire days down in the gym doing nothing but making ID cards. It should be fun in a repetitive sort of way.

On Wednesday, Davyd and I went out after work and got info on wedding cakes. We've basically picked one; we just have to order it now. I'm going to do that early next week. We also went to the Mall and bought almost all our attendant and thank you gifts for the wedding. That's one more thing off the list.

I'm going to go talk to a florist today. I've had visions of flowers dancing in my head for days.

On the way home, I'm going to pick up my Fluvogs from the UPS depot. (YAY!!!!) I'm going to wear them on Saturday for Star and Jeanne's birthday.

I have set up another webmail account (Hotmail keeps eating some of my mail). The address is:
deliciousmyrna@yahoo.ca

I'll still be checking my hotmail so feel free to use either.

My, am I turning into a lollyblogger! (Sorry Star!)

The last week or so has been hellish.

Davyd lost his job at the research company on Friday.

They have been recarpeting in our area of the library so they had to move our service desk. On Thursday, we moved up to the Reference desk. That wasn't so bad.

Then on Friday morning, I come in to find out that the Boss has decided to move us downstairs into the library computer lab. Not bad, except for the fact that we don't have a land-line telephone and the portable dies every half hour. People grouch because they can't cut through the library anymore. I also haven't been able to get anything done because the whole place has been turned upside-down and I feel like I'm losing my mind all the time.

On top of that, I've been feeling vaguely queasy all week and I've been really TIRED (read grumpy).

I suppose you can see she why I've been lolly-blogging; bitch, bitch, bitch...

List of good things in my life
- I had my appointment to get the results from the CT scan I had in May and the results were normal. Not that we were expecting otherwise but there's always the worry.

- Davyd got a new job today. It's at Cash Canada, which isn't the best but it's much better than nothing.

- My mom is working feverishly on my wedding dress and it's beautiful.

- I'll be getting Fluvogs in the mail this week!!!!!

- The renovations at work are almost finished. We should be back at our desk by Wednesday or Thursday.

- I have y'all in my life (and vocabulary; isn't a great word!)

Lucky Black Angels

Well, I bought the Angels. They should arrive within about 2 weeks. I figure, if I decide I want to wear the other ones, I'm sure Star will be kind enough to lend them to me (after all, I still need something borrowed). Besides, the Fluvogs were on sale and they never go on sale. I am content (at least until I get my Visa bill...). Now for the waiting; I hate this part...

Dragon Boat Festival

So here it is:

The Edmonton Dragon Boat Festival runs August 20-22 at Louise McKinney Park. My races are at 7:45 Friday night, 10:30 am and 4:00 Saturday. We may also be racing on Sunday depending on how we do.

Be aware that parking WILL be a bitch; you may be best to park away from the site and walk in or take ETS. For more information see the official site here.

Hope to see you there!

Boots and Dragons

Despite having 2 Dragon Boat practices this weekend (a full hour long practice on Friday night and "sprint" races Sunday afternoon), I'm feeling suprisingly limber. The mucsles in my back and butt are a bit sore but other than that, not too bad. We only have one more practice before the Dragon boat festival this coming weekend. I'll post more details later so y'all can come and watch. :)

I have a dilema. Star and I went shopping on Saturday and found these FABULOUS boots!!!! They're suede with roll down tops and buckles. We bought a pair (it's so nice to have a friend with feet the same size as your's) knowing that one of us would have to have a pair. The dilema is, now I'm not sure if I'm going to buy my Fluvogs (Angels: Lucky) and wear them to my wedding or the FABULOUS Aldo boots. What do you think?

Even-Keeled Locket

I've been meaning to post for a couple of days now but really didn't have much to say. Life has been...well, normal. I go to work, I spend time with friends and family, I sleep and eat and the world turns. I think I'm okay with that (or maybe that's just the drugs talking. My new anti-depressants are finally doing something other than give me side-effects.)

With the wedding 7 weeks and 1 day away, I still have to:

- get flowers organized
- get a cake organized
- buy my boots and lingerie
- get my locket cleaned and pictures put into it

I think I need some help with getting motivated...anyone want to go shopping?

Question

Okay this may seem like a strange question but here it is:

Is nudity ever non-sexual or does it always have a sexual aspect?

What do you think?

Little Dresses

Cortney told my mom yesterday "Grandma, maybe if you make a little dress first you won't have so many problems with the big dress."

What a kid...

Hmmm....
I Am Loki
Loki is the darkest-natured of all the tricksters and like him, your sense of humor can be morbid, even a bit spiteful at times. You find it wickedly amusing when someone makes a fool of themselves and you're willing to help the process along. Cries of outrage fall on deaf ears - you couldn't care less what the commoners think. And god help anyone who tries to make a fool of you - they'll find out quickly just how nasty you can be!

Tan Lines and Fairies

This long weekend was great. Friday night, Gorra, Stephanie and I planned to go to K-days, but by the time we had supper and were thinking about getting ready to go, it was 9:00. The midway was only going to be running until 11:00 so it wasn't really worth it. We decided to continue being lazy and try for Saturday.

Saturday, dawned bright but partly cloudy and I set off for downtown to meet the lads. The rides were fun (my favourite was the "Ring of Fire". Basically like a rollercoaster inside a big loop. Its very much like the upside down boat at WEM but its faster and goes over more times). The Zipper just about made me sick (I don't handle spinning in small circles well) but was still lots of fun, especially the last time around, when the cart that Steph and I were in was just at the right angle to make it seem like we were going to crash into the ground face first. :)

After getting home, I realized that I really should have wore some sunscreen. I had been wearing a scoop-neck top with a long sleeved shirt over it and I burned?(its red but doesn't hurt) my chest. I have this totally silly looking tanline. I guess I'll have to even it out soon because its going to show when I wear my wedding gown. (GRRR!!!)

In the evening, Davyd and I (and Cam and Don) went to see Kill Bill vol. 1 & 2. I enjoyed it, but my goodness is it violent (not that really expected otherwise but I'm still surprised sometimes what we let ourselves watch). I would really suggest watching them in tandem rather than apart; it really is all one story and would be less cut apart.

Sunday was a lazy-ish day, lots of reading and some cleaning, and watching of video.

Monday (second Sunday), my mom came into the city just to try "the dress" on again. The new pattern looks like its going to work much better (the armholes don't gape, yay!) but she does need to get some more chiffon. Oh well, the dress materials are still going to cost less than $200. I'll just really owe my mom (I hope Davyd realizes that when Mom gets old and senile she's going to come live with us...).

In the afternoon, Davyd and I went to Star and Eric's. Davyd to play-test a game (sorry Eric, I get the titles confused) and me to hang with Star while she looked after kids with gamers in her house. We did hang the smallest piece of fairy boarder for Aria's new room (we did it while the girls were napping) and it's going to look really good.
