One should note that the front of a movie theatre, under the screen, a great place to dance (There's always music over that end credits. What else do you think its there for?). Parking lots are also quite good.

Thanks for geeking guys. It gives us women a reason to go out and misbehave...

I love Jimmy Buffett (like you didn't already know that)...

Love In The Library Jimmy Buffett, Mac McAnally

On the corner of Government and Bay Avenue
The old doomsday fanatic wore a crown of kudzu
Sirens where wailing in the gulf coastal heat
And it seemed like the whole world was in forced retreat
I paid no attention, revolved through the door
Passed the newspaper rack on the worn marble floor
Near civil war history my heart skipped a beat
She was standing on fiction stretched high on bare feet

Chorus
Love in the library, quiet and cool
Love in the library, there are no rules
Surrounded by stories surreal and sublime
I fell in love in the library once upon a time

I was the pirate and she was the queen
Sir Francis and Elizabeth the best there's ever been
Then she strolled past my table and stopped at the stairs
Then sent me a smile as she reached for Flaubert

Chorus
She gathered her books, walked while she read
Words never spoken but so much was said
You can read all you want into this rendezvous
But it's safer than most things that lovers can do
Well stories have endings and fantasies fade
The guard by the door starts drawing the shade
So write your own ending and hope they come true
For the lovers and strangers on Bay Avenue
Chorus

Therapy is extremely expensive.
Poppin' bubble wrap is radically cheap.
You choose which one helps with your problem.
I'm gonna get some sleep.
-Jimmy Buffet "I Don't Know and I Don't Care"

Am feeling particularly off today. I'm sure its partly to do with working 1:30-9 (a shift I haven't worked in a month-ish). I did get a lot accomplished before work though. I talked to my mom (which I guess shouldn't really count since she phoned me before I was out of bed), made Davyd breakfast (pancakes! and didn't even burn them (mostly)), and booked canoes and a trailer for Athabasca trip (which apparently can't be done over the phone but requires going over to the place (the place with the things)).

Am feeling particularly off...

I've had an incredibly lazy weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday, I had a nap from about 12-2 pm (I'm enjoying my childless years!) And really didn't DO that much. I'm really bothered by the heat. I find it makes me really sleepy and generally depressed (I would WAY rather it be -30 than +30). I guess I live in the right part of the world.

Yesterday evening, I watched a marvelous Gilbert and Sullivan musical at Gorra and Stephanie's. If you enjoy operettasI would recommend Iolanthe. We watched the CBC / Stratford version (done in the 80's). It's about fairies and politicians. The political satire is wonderful and the most of the fairy costumes were lovely. I thought it was very apt for campaign season.

Other than that, life's been fairly normal (no major crisis :) ). I've been making an effort to keep caught up on the dishes at home (if you've been to my house, you know that there are always dishes that need washing). I'm just tired of the mess all the time.

Later...

HERE YE! HEAR YE!

My parents are planning a canoe trip down the Athabasca River (near where I grew up) for the weekend of July 10 and 11. The plan (so far) is to rent canoes, go out to my parents on Friday (9) and tent in their yard. We will set out early Saturday morning from Blue Ridge, spend Saturday night on the river bank, and arrive at Fort Assiniboine at about 5pm on Sunday. This is a very laid back trip (no real rapids) and will involve a lot of floating down the river and amazing scenery.

Interested?

I had a fabulous time last evening. I really needed that.

Star, Pixie, April and I went to see a chic flick (which will remain unnamed so as to avoid mocking from male readers). The movie was wonderful. We laughed and laughed (so much so that when the lights came up everyone in the theatre turned around and stared).

We then headed to BPs where we continued in our girly vein. We laughed. We flirted. We danced. It was Marvelous!

Thanks girls! We should do it more often...

Last evening Davyd and I went out to get some pricing on printing for our wedding invites. While at Staples, we found the perfect paper, and so, bought it. :) Back at home, we did up some samples and have come up with something we're both happy with (a much bigger challenge than one would think).

The upshot is that today I'm having good fuzzy wedding thoughts (as opposed to the awful, stressed ones I was having next week).

Also, once everything is printed, I am planning to have a "help me put together my wedding invitations" party (there will be ice cream and chocolate). I'll keep y'all posted about the day...

I thought this was a cool meme:

There are soundtracks to everything. If my life had a sound track, and you could add a song, which song would you add? Please leave a comment with the song.

Less than four months until the wedding (I always start to type "weeding"). There's still so much to do. On Wednesday, I went dinner with Davyd's mom and step-father at the restraunt that we're going to have our wedding supper at. Yesterday, brought the sample dress over to try on. Invitations should be out by the begining of next month. Still flowers to plan. And decorations. And a cake (the aunt I was going to get to make it is moving to Vancouver in July)...

GAHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I think I'm turning into one of THOSE brides. You know the one's. They're stressed about all the details. Remind me why agreed to this wedding... I don't mean the marriage. I'm living that. I mean the wedding.

Davyd left for Winnipeg this morning. He's going to help Star drive home. There is some debate on when they'll be back (see Stained Glass). I miss him already.

Before he left, Davyd made me promise not to sit around the house and mope. I may need some help keeping that promise...
