I'm amazed how a couple of days and a few snow flakes can make a difference. On Sunday, it was fall. You could go outside without a coat (not necessarily recommended but possible). There was still the lingering memory of summer. Now it's winter. You can't go out with out a toque, scarf and mittens for fear of frost bite. But at the same time I love it.
Rednecked Rabbit
Cuz some days, my long hair just can't cover up my Redneck...

It's funny how some weekends don't turn out at all like you planned. On Saturday, I went over to Star's to make Aria a dragon costume for Halloween. Of course, before we could get started, we had to go to Fabricland to get supplies (it didn't hurt that there was a big sale this weekend). We had every intention of going back to the house and getting started but it didn't happen. We looked at fabric, had lunch, looked a jewelry and bought Eric flowers. It was nice just to hang out with a girlfriend. I haven't got to do that for a while.
When we did finally get back to the house. It was just about time for Star to get ready for Angel's game. I helped her make the most beautiful fairy wings (I find fairies incredibly creepy but Star makes a particularity YUMMY fae).
Sunday, I had planned to clean house (we're still playing catch up from the Quest). At about 12:00 James called and asked if Davyd and I needed a Turkey dinner. Being one to not turn down free food, good company, or an excuse to put off housework, I accepted and we were off. (Dinner was fabulous. Thanks again, Lara, James, and La's mom!)
Afterwards, we went to Gorra and Stephanie's to watch movies. I love Jeeves and Wooster!
Now, I have to go home to the disaster that is my apartment and clean something. sigh.

You ever have one of those weeks? It's been one.
On Tuesday morning I got in my car, drove a block and realized that my tire was flat (By the b'y, it not a good idea to drive into and over curbs). So I had to limp my car home, call Grant Mac and tell them I would be late. I changed the tire (now I'm thankful Mom insisted, "If you don;t know how change a tire, you don't know how to drive"). I figure I must look competent because there were 3 of my neighbour's (all men) who just walked on by while I was sitting there cranking on the tire iron. I'm not sure I would have accepted the help if they had offered it (it's not worked well for me in the past. The last time I played the damsel in distress when I had a flat, the guy turned the lug nuts the wrong way and broke one of them off). It would have been nice to be offered help though because I might not feel like I live in such a big, mean city.
On Wednesday, I went to Canadian Tire to get my tire fixed. That went okay but it longer than I expected and I missed my belly dancing class. Sigh.
This morning, at eight (I was still in my nightgown) I looked at my calendar and realized that I had to be at work at 9:00. I had been expecting to be at work for 10:00 and I have commute that takes about half an hour. I decided that lunch was more important than a shower (what can I say? I hate to go hungry) so I've felt icky all day. When I went out to my car there were guys unloading roofing supplies from a big truck (not a cubevan, a BIG truck). The semi was parked right behind my car and I had to wait for them to move it before I could go anywhere. I wasn't late for work but not for lack of trying.

Well, I've been reading blogs for several months now and have been inspired to start my own. I guess it will include my thoughts, quotes, poems, lyrics, stories from my life, whatever.
I wanted to share a quote with you all
Some people say, "You shouldn't tempt Fate."
And for them I can not disagree.
But I never learned nothing from playing it safe.
I say, "Fate should not tempt me!"
- Mary Chapin Carpenter
